Albert Pye Community Primary School is celebrating the news that it has maintained its ‘Good’ rating in all five key areas by Ofsted, following an inspection on 11th and 12th June 2024. These areas include quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, leadership and management, and early years provision.
The positive outcome reflects the hard work of the entire school community led by Mrs. Rae Aldous and Ms. Louise Creed. A member of The Active Learning Trust, the school was also rated as ‘Good’ in its previous inspection in 2013.
The Beccles-based Primary School caters to 398 pupils aged between 3 and 11 years old and was commended by inspectors for fostering an inclusive environment where pupils are proud to attend, exhibiting politeness and good behaviour. The report highlighted that the school has successfully raised expectations of what pupils can achieve, ensuring they feel safe and well-cared for. The report highlighted a strong emphasis on building learning from the very beginning of Nursery, with staff receiving high-quality training from experts to support this approach.
Inspectors noted the school ensures that pupils who need help to catch up receive effective support. The report also found that pupils are also exposed to diverse ways of life and other cultures, enriching their educational experience. Subject leaders were seen to have benefited from collaboration with experts and colleagues across The Active Learning Trust, further enhancing the quality of education provided.
Mrs. Rae Aldous, Executive Headteacher of The Albert Pye and Ravensmere Schools Federation, expressed her pride, saying, "We are thrilled with this rating which is thanks to the collective effort, passion, and commitment of our incredible staff, enthusiastic pupils, and supportive parents. Our school community has built a nurturing environment where everyone feels valued and inspired to achieve their best. I am immensely proud of our achievements and I am confident that we will continue to grow and thrive."
Lynsey Holzer, Chief Executive Officer of Active Learning Trust, added, "This positive rating by Ofsted fills everyone at the Trust with pride for what has been achieved and excitement for what the future holds at Albert Pye Community Primary School. I know it will continue to flourish under the brilliant leadership of Mrs Aldous and Ms Creed."
Ravensmere Infant School, a nearby partner school within the Albert Pye and Ravensmere Schools Federation, will relocate to the Albert Pye Primary School site, in time for the new school year on September 5, 2024. Following the relocation, both schools will continue to operate under the name The Albert Pye and Ravensmere Schools Federation.
